A Russian delegation visited Üsküdar University

A delegation of Russian academics visited Üsküdar University. The visit, which took place in the Senate Meeting Hall, was attended by Prof. Sergei G. Sinelnikov-Murylev, Rector of the Russian Academy of Foreign Trade; Larisa Taradina, Director of International Education and Cooperation Development; Hoffmann Alexander, Head of the Information Management Department; Shkolyar Irina; Ph.D. Idrisova Vittoriya; and Rashid Mustafazade.

At the meeting held in the Senate Hall, the delegation was welcomed by Üsküdar University's Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Muhsin Konuk, Head of the Department of Political Science and International Relations Prof. Dr. Havva Kök Arslan, Director of the Institute of Sufi Studies Prof. Dr. Elif Erhan, Üsküdar University General Secretary Selçuk Uysaler, Head of Corporate Communications Tahsin Aksu, and Director of International Relations Peyman Jafari.

The meeting, chaired by Üsküdar University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Muhsin Konuk, began with the viewing of a promotional film about Üsküdar University.

Prof. Sergei G. Sinelnikov-Murylev: “Our Russian students are very interested in Türkiye.”

Professor Sergei G. Sinelnikov-Murylev, Rector of the Russian Academy of Foreign Trade under the Ministry of the Russian Federation, thanked them for the warm welcome and said he would look forward to welcoming Professor Nevzat Tarhan, Founding Rector of Üsküdar University, to Russia. Sinelnikov-Murylev stated, “We are open to all kinds of cooperation. Our Russian students are very interested in Türkiye, especially Istanbul.”

A special Russian language training program for Turkish students will be shared.

Larisa Taradina, Director of International Education and Cooperation Development at the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, said they would "share a special Russian language training program for Turkish students."

Hoffmann Alexander: “We recommend they visit Üsküdar University.”

Speaking about their international activities, Hoffmann Alexander, Head of the Information Management Department, said: “In Russia, we tell our students that they should visit Üsküdar University. We were very pleased with the warm welcome and constructive attitude of Istanbul and Üsküdar University.”

Prof. Dr. Havva Kök Arslan: “Strengthening cooperation is important for both countries.”

Prof. Dr. Havva Kök Arslan, Head of the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Üsküdar University's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, stated, "Strengthening cooperation is important for both countries."

Prof. Dr. Muhsin Konuk spoke about Üsküdar University.

Prof. Dr. Muhsin Konuk, Vice Rector of Üsküdar University, spoke about Üsküdar University, its faculties, and the existence of joint departments.

Information about the summer school was provided.

Professor Dr. Elif Erhan, Director of the Institute of Sufi Studies, provided information about the summer school. She stated that Russian students could participate in the summer school and learn Turkish, adding that Turkish students could also participate in language training in Russia.

Üsküdar University's international students were mentioned.

Peyman Jafari, Director of International Relations, shared information about international students studying at Üsküdar University. Jafari stated that Üsküdar University has students from 95 different countries, and also mentioned a significant number of Russian students.

Planning was done to improve bilateral relations.

The meeting concluded with an exchange of ideas on planning to sign an MOU with Russia and develop bilateral relations, as well as on Turkish and Russian language education.
